Anyway, I'm guessing you haven't studied Oklahoma State's schedule closely yet. All we've heard from everyone this week is that OSU presents the toughest test remaining on KSU's schedule. Kirk Herbstreit all but said on Dallas radio today the Cowboys would pull the upset, and that they will give Kansas State "ALL they can handle in Manhattan."
So, just like all the experts have done, I thought I'd compare schedules and their results like I did for the Texas Tech game, but halfway into that exercise, I realized there is no comparison:
This schedule is ridiculously not comparable to K-State's. |
OSU has already played three of the four worst teams in the conference in that gauntlet, and have yet to play any of the top teams (except Texas, and they LOST that one, and it remains to be seen where UT will finish this season with games remaining against Tech, TCU, ISU, and KSU).
We've scored 1437 more points in conference than OSU. |
There is nothing in that schedule to make me think OSU will be able to handle BSFS, that they can handle a Top 3 team, or that they can handle the conference's top scoring team. A team that's in first place of Points For by 42 points.

Since you all love Kansas State stats, here's the breakdown of how we stack up.As you can see, KSU has huge advantages in conference ranking in 6 statistical categories, after having played a MUCH tougher conference schedule. We are almost dead even through a majority of the stats, and OSU holds the advantage in Punting, Passing Offense, and Total Offense. Of course, so did Tech, and they were still destroyed.
Again, we are statistically the superior team playing at home at a televised night game on ABC with Herbstreit and Musburger. I like our chances. A lot.

Let's also not forget OSU top QB is out for the season and they started Wes Lunt against TCU, who is proving to be absolutely terrible this year:Wes Lunt made his first start since Sept. 15 a memorable one, as he threw for 324 yards and a TD to lead Oklahoma State past visiting TCU last Saturday.
Lunt showed some rust early, but led the Pokes to 36 unanswered points after they fell behind 14-0. Help came from RB Joseph Randle as he rushed for 126 yards and a score, while Josh Stewart finished with six catches for 120 yards.
In all, OSU tallied 471 yards of total offense, but was just 5-of-16 on third- down conversion attempts and turned the ball over twice. Quinn Sharp tied a school record with five field goals. And by the way, looking forward to the Lynch Mob introducing a freshman QB to the Wildcat Nation, and Joseph Randle, while a great runner, won't have room to run much against this ever improving defense.

Hope you all had a great Halloween. My youngest daughter Erynn (3) dressed up as Collin Klein tonight for her costume. Her choice, not mine, mind you. I was very proud of it all until she decided she'd put her purple wings on as well.
"Noooo!" she screamed. "I want to be FAIRY COLLIN KLEIN!" she yelled at the top of her lungs as I tried to talk her out of it in front of our neighborhood block party. With eye black running down her cheeks and on her hands, and the #7 on purple construction paper we had taped over the #2 jersey ripping in several places, the wings were the least of our worries.
At least the neighborhood was entertained -- at K-State's expense (and mine).
#fairycollinklein7 for Heisman.
